Comparing the Paul Reed Smith SE Acoustic line. A60 vs A50 vs A40.
Forgive some bad editing on this one, my computer wasn't cooperative so I had to edit this on my phone.
I wanted to do a quick comparison video to help people decide between the various @prsguitars SE acoustic offerings from the Angelus line.

So You wanna Sound like Dickey Betts?

I'm trying a new style of video, I want to talk about the concepts that make a player sound like themselves, not necessarily how to play their licks, but what's going on in their minds instead.

NUX MG300 Demo: Time Solo

I had 2 goals for this video, use every obnoxious filter and transition in iMovie, and to demonstrate how great the NUX MG-300 can faithfully recreate iconic sounds. What sound is more iconic than David Gilmour's on "Time"? www.urockmusiccenter.com reverb.com/shop/u-rock-music-center Thanks also to "Now You Shred" for the top quality backing track.

Pickin' on Ween Vol 2: Chocolate Town
Great overview on the Fiore! But.. It sure looks like a 2-Piece body to me. Right when you lift to show the body and several times through the video, I keep seeing what looks like a line that gets highlighted at just the right angle and lighting. This seems consistent with what most have said. 2-Piece body but most often very well done and at times almost invisible.. Beautiful guitar, and Im driving out of town this weekend to pick one up!
Merle Travis used his thumb and index finger to produce his amazing sound. Rev. Gary Davis played in a similar manner.
Gotta agree. Too many tone wankers having a sound flog out there!
Eh bien c est vraiment réussi Super son ! Comme l original . La strat est bonne et l ir svp . C est quoi . Merci
Yah tell em cork sniffers what's down brother and that should straighten out their cork sniffing ways
Made in China ?
Where can I a nut for the strat woodstock
Also ankering is important…
A very talented musician and teacher, but too little focus on the chords themselves, because which bass strings you pluck clearly depends on which chord you're playing, right? I'll see 6-5, 6-4, 5-4, etc., none of which helps unless you know which chord, which unfortunately, your video does not show.
A60 sounded best to me...best bass which I tend to gravitate to playing dreadnoughts for years.
Thank you for actually fingerpicking a guitar that begs to be fingerpicked! Too many demo/review videos with just strumming
Can we rest our pinkie on the picking hand-? Supports the picking hand ?--you don't --!
Why not show that mystery chord you are paying in the first part of the lesson ?
Nice review! Tagima is a japanese name. The company's creator is called Seizi Tagima, he is a Japanese immigrant.

Best lesson ive had thank you bro
Finally I can play this finger Style.. Thank you for sharing
excellent review, my older ears cannot hear a difference between the models. If I move in this direction, I'll go with the 40 and save. Thanks!
Oh my god… now they went up from $685 to $950. Fucking inflation is crazy bad. Ughhhh 😔😔😔😔
I’m 84 yrs. Old I have over searched and still tough on has & melody simultaneously. I can certainly repair much of my technique by following this protocol. Who is this doc Watson 3 time learner what a jerk. Doc Watson,Tony Rice
So glad I didn’t buy one
Thanks. Well thought out lesson. Hello from Asia.
Easily the best tutorial on Travis picking. I often come back to this video cause once you’ve nailed it you think to yourself wow it really is easy 😂
A month ago I bought a TG-530 on a whim for $300 (guess I wanted to REALLY support my local music shop). Had never even heard of Tagima. Took it home and discovered I really loved it. More than my 28 year old PRS CE-22, more than any of my other guitars. Upgraded the pickups to Wilde Noisefree Strats (not because the originals sound bad, but because there is way too much 60Hz in my music room) and a Freeway Switch (for fun) and liked it even more. Wondered if I was putting too much $$$ into a cheap guitar, so went to music store and played more than 30 new and used Fender Strats up to $3000, and none of the necks felt as good (to me) as the Tagima. Next week I'm getting a new nut because the old one does look like a plastic piece of junk with bits of shaved plastic still hanging off it (not that it seems to matter to the sound or playability) and asking the luthier if I'm insane to keep sinking money into it. But I'm just blown away by how good this guitar feels and plays.
HELLO. I'M FROM BRAZIL AND ALSO HAVE THE TAGIMA TG-530 TAGIMA IS A LEGENDARY BRAND HERE IN BRAZIL. NICE TO KNOW THAT IT IS BEING WELL ACCEPTED IN OTHER COUNTRIES
Who cares what others think or how much you spend ass long as it becomes the instrument you love & want. After all, it’s your money and your guitar.
Mine is not one piece. Makes no difference to me, but…
Guitar sure sounds good but you swing that tune just right
Easy in concept, not so much in execution 😂 great video helps a ton!
The key is repetition of each pattern by itself. Eventually it becomes automatic. And the next step is to consciously and deliberately mix up the patterns. And after that, you will forget that there are patterns at all, and you are just making music.
i've learned several doc Watson flat pickin songs online. I have some great teachers. Bryan Sutton etc. You suck!!!!
you should watch your mouth, silence is Golden at times
Has anyone cared about dive bombs after their 15th birthday?
Great video! Your fingers remind me of a crab walking when you get going fast. The fingernail info was nice to know.
Um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um,I'm,um ...
Jerry would look good on a PRS acoustic..
Sounds great!!!!
Thanks man. This makes sense. I've been doing that repetition thing for the last couple of days rather than wandering aimlessly around the fretboard. Has changed my thoughts and approach to solos. Also it gives you ideas for riffs which in turn can be turned into a piece.
Nobody seems to do "Travis Picking" correclty..Merle only used his index finger and his thumb..
Don't know who Dickey Betts is? Better go back to your rock 🤣
Too fast, I'm afraid. Sometimes things can be over-explained.
13:08 what's the name of song this movement is from?
I have been finger picking for decades. When I tried placing my thumb in relation to my index finger as demonstrated here, my wrist has to be bent at a 45 degree angle. This feels and looks very unnatural and is uncomfortable to hold for any time. If the guitar is held nearly vertically, it is a little easier, but not much. I'm going back to what works for me. Otherwise, a good lesson.
Thanks for the lesson
so easy!! thank you
May be, but not for the older folk like me... I've been trying to no avail... hahha
I brought one in the UK last week love it 😊
Lower output. 2 post in lieu of 6 bridge. Better guitar all around.
merle travis used just his thumb and index finger.thats true travis picking.
This is awesome, so wished had seen this video before begin. Your so on point it’s simple but hard to break old habit. Focusing on just the thumb string changes actually harder than some slightly more difficult riffs, but the speed would have never gotten where I want it without doing this first. So glad I found your channel today. I think this is going to be a really big point . I even got out the metronome.
SO...
16:30 Maybe just happy?
